What are Dr. Collette's experitse?
Dr. Collette uses a comprehensive approach combining clinical, neuropsychological, academic and forensic evaluation processes to diagnose psychological and psychiatric disorders.
In therapy, Dr. Collette uses a reality-based approach anchored in humanistic and unconditional positive regard to teach skills with the intention of developping and supporting independent self-regulation of emotions, thoughts, actions and perspectives.

What To Expect At Your Visit
A welcoming, understanding, safe environment to explore the self and learn skills to overcome unhealthy patterns.
All clients fill out an intake form for contact information and relevant psychological difficulties and must sign informed consent.
Interventions typically take from 6-20 sessions depending on the individual and the severity of the difficulties.
Psychological Evaluations on offer for those 9 years and older for Intellectual Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Specific Learning Disorders, mood disorders (depression, bipolar, etc.), anxiety disorders (panic, generalized, social, etc.), Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders, Addiction Disorders, Trauma related disorders, Personality Disorders, among others:
ADHD: In-person testing necessary for about 4-5 hours, measuring attentional control, executive functions, working memory, processing speed, time management, among others and emotional disorders such as anxiety, depression. Interview with someone that can speak to presentation prior to age 12 at home and/or school (30 minutes - 1 hour).
Autism Spectrum Disorder: In-person testing necessary for about 3-4 hours, measuring social-emotional reciprocity, communication, stereotyped, restrictive and repetitive patterns of behavior, intellectual abilities, among others. Information related to developmental history and past symptoms gathered (1 hour).
Specific Learning Disorders in reading, written expression or math and ADHD: In-person testing necessary for about 6-8 hours, measuring academic performance, intellectual abilities, attentional control, executive functions, emotional, behavioral, among others. Interview or gathering information from school, home, and developmental history are necessary (1-2 hours).
Emotional, behavioral, thought, personality disorders: In-person OR vitrual testing for about 3-4 hours measuring symptom manifestation, impacts on functioning.
Comprehensive Evaluation: In-person necessary, some can be done virtually, measuring attentional control, executive functions, intellectual abiltiies, academic performance, emotional/behavioral/thought disorders, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, among others. Developmental history and information about functioning at home, school and/or work are needed (1-2 hours).
Forensic/Court-Ordered Evaluations: In-person preferred, some virtual, for about 6-8 hours measuring risk of recidivism in general, violent and sexual crimes with youth and adults, intellectual abilities, academic performance, emotional/thought/behavioral disorders, among others as needed. Collateral information is gathered from multiple sources and considered as part of the overall findings and conclusions (2-3 hours).
ALL evaluations are conducted with the intention of bringing to light the root causes of problematic patterns that impede functioning and providing evidence-based suggestions for overcoming them.

Receipts are provided to the client and they are responsible for submission to insurance for reimbursement. Unless otherwise agreed upon.
